This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I read the forum about you so I figured I'd try to give some advice.
I'm an experimental photographer...still fairly new but I picked up some things that I feel help add to one's gallery.
1. Adding borders either black or white depending on the colors represented in the image help give a completed feel to the piece.
2. Sort through your gallery. If there are pieces that you put as filler or feel aren't your best, move them to scrap. It's better to have 10 amazing pieces than 30 okay pieces.
3. Contrast. Make sure your lights and darks are fully represented.
4. Subject and Composition. Taking a picture of something dead-center is not as exciting or interesting as something more off to one side. Also, focusing on a part of the subject and not the whole leaves more for the mind to wonder.
5. If you have photoshop...use it proudly! There are great tools like the smudge to remove small pieces, or the dodge and burning tools for editing an image. I used the smudge tool to remove a fly on a flower shot I recently took.
Well these are just a few things I have learned along the way. I'm still learning a lot too. I hope I was able to help in some way
I don't comment many people, but I thought you really deserved some recognition on your pictures; I like them a lot. where do you live? you capture such great scenery wherever you are. keep it up.
but you may want to try resizing some of your pictures and saving them seperately for dA
its not a big deal to some people, like me, who use larger resolutions on their monitor, but for some people they cant see the whole image on the screen at one time.
